The Alberta Sikh History Project is an initiative by Dr. Michael Hawley at Mount Royal University, Calgary, Canada.

  • Records the patterns of Sikh migration and settlement in Alberta,
  • Registers Sikh religious and cultural expressions over time,
  • Locates Sikhs’ historical and ongoing connections with Punjab and other spaces in the global Sikh diaspora,
  • Discloses how Sikhs have been represented in the media, politics, and law in Alberta,
  • Preserves the oral histories of Sikhs in the province.
