Four of the ‘Hindus’ are Samuel Jagat Singh, Sohan Singh Bhullar, Karam Singh, and Ram Singh. Their names appear together at the location of the Hyssop farm in the 1921 federal census. Samuel Jagat Singh and Sohan Singh went on to lead productive lives in and around the Edmonton region. Both Samuel Jagat Singh and Sohan Singh Bhullar married African-American women. Their marriage registrations are also on this site. Ram Singh died in 1922 in Lethbridge. His death registration is also on this site. The 1921 Census is the only p[lace where Karam Singh’s name appears. It is not known if there were others in this ‘colony’ of Hindus who leased 700 acres from the Hyssops. The identity of Abraham Singh is unknown.
